Gods Of Tennis : It's a Rafa-Roger final once again!

Tennis legend Roger Federer 35 is through to the final of the Australian Open. The tournament has been dominated by veterans

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will meet in a grand slam final for the first time in six years after the Spaniard's thrilling Australian Open semi-final win over Grigor Dimitrov.

Federer, 35, and the Williams sisters - 36-year-old Venus and 35-year-old Serena - had clinched their spots in the finals on Throwback Thursday. Nadal, now 30, has struggled with injuries for years and hadn't so much as made it to the quarterfinals in any of the past six grand slam events. Nadal, one game from the final at 5-4, had to face new balls on Dimitrov's serve and could do nothing about the 14th and 15th aces to fly by him. He will be helped by the fact that Nadal, 30, will get one fewer day to recover from this almost five-hour match that ended at 12:45 a.m. local time. I was exhausted and Grigor was playing unbelievable.

"I'm competing great, physically I'm getting there". Means a lot to me.

On Friday, Nadal, 30, defeated Grigor Dimitrov 6-3 5-7 7-6 (5) 6-7 (4) 6-4.

"Arrive moment in the fifth set that for sure I wanted to win. I think this match is completely different than what happened before", Nadal said. "I think both of us deserve to be in that final, it was a great fight". Was a great fight. I feel the love of the people here.

Then he turned his attention to Sunday, and the match that transcends tennis.

On playing Federer: I feel that this rivalry is talked about outside the tennis world and that is good for our sport.

Serena is on the cusp of all-time greatness as she tied Steffi Graf's mark of 22 Grand Slam singles titles in the Open era by winning Wimbledon past year.

One of the photos sees her dressed in all black, holding a long scarf behind one of her legs, which is raised above her. The 19-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took to her Snapchat on Monday (January 23) to explain.

Federer, 35, could become the oldest man to win a major since Rosewall, at 37, won the 1972 Australian Open. Nadal will be hoping to cut the gap and move into outright second on the all-time list by winning his 15th.

Also in 2008? Tiger Woods won his most recent major title, the U.S. Open - at Torrey Pines, the site of his return to official PGA Tour competition this week.

That Melbourne final eight years ago is Nadal's only Australian Open win to date.

Especially since their last meeting was canceled because neither was healthy when Federer visited Nadal's tennis academy in Mallorca, Spain, in the fall.

It is believed that the otter weighed an average of 110 pounds, which is more than double what modern-day otters weigh. Su and colleagues made a decision to take CT scans of the cranium to digitally reconstruct it.

Both Nadal and Federer ended their 2016 seasons early after suffering injuries.

In the end, there was very little to choose between the two players. Navratilova remains the oldest Grand Slam finalist in the modern era, reaching the 1994 Wimbledon final at 37, 258 days - more than a year older than Venus is now. Nadal has a 6-2 record in those matches and has a 23-11 overall record against Federer.

In his absence Federer won his only French Open title and regained his crown at SW19 to take him to 15 slam titles, one clear of the record-holder Pete Sampras.

Serena Williams has taken the first set 6-2 in her Australian Open semifinal against Mirjana Lucic-Baroni, and is potentially one set away from a championship match against her older sister, Venus.
