Dolphins to release Mario Williams, Branden Albert

It was first reported on NFL Network on Thursday morning that the Miami Dolphins plan to release veteran players Branden Albert and Mario Williams.

According to a report from Miami Herald reporter Armando Salguero, along with other media members, the Jacksonville Jaguars are interested in acquiring Albert from the Dolphins.

One possible team of interest could be the Denver Broncos. That worked out last year with Byron Maxwell (and Vance Joseph's only year as defensive coordinator), but there's no guarantee it'll play out that way again.

Albert started 12 games for the Dolphins this season but had one of his worst campaigns as a pro. He hasn't played a full season since 2011, which is also the only full season of his career. The team had claimed him off waivers from the Cleveland Browns last summer.

Baltimore Nabs Three James Beard Nominations
Also earning recognition this year: Elizabeth Degener of Cape May's Enfin Farms , a semifinalist for outstanding baker. Among the new faces this year for best chef: Midwest are Karen Bell, the chef-owner of Bavette La Boucherie at 330 E.

The Jaguars aren't in that position, but as I've previously written, it's clear that owner Shad Khan expects executive vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin, general manager Dave Caldwell and head coach Doug Marrone to win now. His release will save Miami around $8.5 million this year.

Ekpre-Olomu was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins from the Cleveland Browns on April 5, 2016 after he spent the entire 2015 season on injured reserve with the Browns.

Mitchell was to make $3.975 million in 2017 (not guaranteed).

The cap space freed up by releasing Williams and Mitchell and doing whatever happens with Albert will likely be directed at a defensive overhaul this spring.

It might be fun to pair up with your friends online and duke it out in weird first-person mode throwing punches and fireballs. Sadly, this first person view mode doesn't seem particularly deep, but we will only known for sure once the game releases .

The expectation is that second-year player Laremy Tunsil will take over the starting left OT job.

While Albert will not command another mega-money deal like he did in 2014, the 32-year-old still offers a quality starter at the pro level.

Williams, 32, signed with the Dolphins last offseason after he was released by the?

Williams was a major disappointment for Miami after signing a two-year, $17 million contract last year.
