President Donald Trump gives daughter Ivanka White House office

Kochs pledge millions to reps- if they vote no on health care bill

Her office will reportedly be located next to senior adviser Dina Powell, who was recently promoted to the National Security Council.

The businesswoman turned unofficial adviser to The President will circumnavigate federal anti-nepotism laws by taking no official role, but will receive government-issued communications devices and security clearance to access classified information.

Ms Trump, wife of the President's senior adviser Jared Kushner, said she will voluntarily follow the ethics code, although she will not be paid or sworn into office.

Ivanka's elevated position has historians and ethics experts questioning the appropriateness of having one of the president's adult children serving directly in the administration, especially while continuing to own a business. Trump released a statement about her new "position" - which, again, is really not a position at all - clarifying that she will generously comply with "ethics" expected of other "employees".

Granted, it's not like Ivanka hasn't already been essentially working as a member of Trump's admin before this.

On Monday evening, NBC reported Ivanka has banned her eponymous brands from advertising anything with her image.

Politico also reports that Ivanka's lawyer mentioned that "We don't believe this eliminates conflict in every way", and that there is still much more work to do.

"They're not saying she's going to voluntarily subject herself to ethics rules to be nice", said former Obama ethics czar Norm Eisen.

Don't look for her at the White House this week, though.

In accepting the unspecified role in the White House, Ivanka Trump was compelled to cede control of her fashion empire to a company executive as a means to avoid a potential conflict of interest.

The First Daughter also took to Twitter to comment on the meeting. She is "the sole beneficiary" of the trust, Gorelick told the Times. She later posed for a photo sitting at the president's desk at the Oval Office with Donald Trump and Trudeau standing by her side.

She has been active alongside her father throughout the first months of his presidency, attending major events with her father and other world leaders.

Mount Etna volcano erupts with BBC crew forced to flee
Lava flow mixed with steam had caused a huge explosion, which pelted the group with boiling rocks and steam, she said. The incident happened as Etna burst into life again, two and a half weeks after its first eruption in over a year.

Regardless, the West Wing news still comes as a something of a change in narrative for Ivanka-following her early and oft-cited insistence that her only role in her father's administration would be that of "a daughter"-if not exactly a surprise".
