Rule gives Oregonians non-gender option on driver's license

People gather at the Equality March for Unity and Pride in Washington D.C

Jamie Shupe expects to stand out front of an Oregon DMV early next month and cry.

According to multiple reports, OR became on Thursday the first state in the U.S.to allow non-binary people to identify as such on state IDs, driver's licenses and permits, awarding a massive civil rights victory to non-binary people and LGBTQ activists. As of July 3rd, Oregonians can choose an "X" for "not specified" as their gender. She said the move is a step towards "a society that upholds the rights, liberties and dignity of each of its people".

Shupe made history past year when he became the first person in the U.S.to win the right to legally identify as non-binary.

According to The Guardian, "The IDs can also help people avoid discrimination and mistreatment given that when people have IDs that don't match their gender presentation, they can be questioned and denied services".

'Broad City' to Bleep President Trump's Name in Season 4
Back when Trump was first elected, it became a bit of a trend to refer to him online as "Tr*mp" as an act of protest. Meanwhile, an ongoing gag will see the president's name bleeped out as though it is a swear word.

The stats show that the number of people who don't consider themselves part of the gender binary is increasing.

OR is among the handful of states in the vanguard of transgender and LGBTQ rights.

An employee of the advocacy group Basic Rights Oregon hands out stickers during an Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle department public hearing on May 10. "It's something we should do because it's the right thing to do".

Citizens of Australia and New Zealand already have the option to choose "X" on their passports, and in India passport applicants can pick Male, Female or Eunuch.

After Six-Day War, An American Became A West Bank Settler
The anniversary of the war has been a dominant subject of the press coverage here in Israel and rightly so. Construction of settlements in the region is considered illegal under worldwide law.

The state Senate passed a bill which, similarly to the OR legislation, would allow people to choose a third gender on official forms. "Our lives are so gendered, which is why it's important that driver licenses and other forms of IDs recognize people who are non-binary", Haque said in a statement. But the California Family Council opposes the bill, arguing that "government documents need to reflect biological facts for identification", the AP reported. According to David House, a DMV spokesperson, "There was very little opposition" to the change. Judge Amy Holmes Hen ruled that "The sex of Jamie Shupe is hereby changed from female to non-binary".

"My gender identity is definitely feminine".

"I've trembled with the fear of failure and cried tears until I had no more tears to cry, because of the magnitude of what's been at stake - and now won", Shupe said.

Durant makes his mark in Game 1 of NBA Finals for Warriors
That is not a luxury the Cavs, who are powered by LeBron James and Kyrie Irving , can afford if they hope to upset the Warriors. The only other point I will make is that I think Home Court advantage will be an advantage for the Warriors, until it isn't.
