Canadian Henderson tames strong winds for fourth LPGA win

Brooke Henderson bogeyed the final two holes in the second round of the Meijer LPGA Classic but managed to retain a two-stroke lead

Lexi Thompson has continued her remarkable run of form of late by taking the 54 hole lead at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Grand Rapids in MI, the 22 year old's lead a narrow one, however, just one ahead of the first and second round leader Brooke Henderson, Koreans Jenny Shin and Sung Hyun Park and South Africa's Lee-Anne Pace.

Henderson has a solid lead over South Korean Hur Mi-Jung (66), Spaniard Carlota Ciganda (64) and Lexi Thompson of the U.S. in the US$2 million (RM8.55 million) LPGA Tour event.

Henderson birdied Nos. 12 and 13 and closed with five pars.

Thompson won the Kingsmill Championship last month in Virginia for her eighth LPGA Tour title after losing the ANA Inspiration in a playoff after being penalized four strokes for a rules violation reported by a television viewer.

Adding to uncertainty about the list, Franks was not on the baseball team. Hodgkinson was very anti-Republican and anti-President Donald Trump.

The 19-year-old could have had a bigger lead but she ended her round with back-to-back bogeys to reach a 12-under 130 total, setting the tournament's 36-hole scoring record.

"It's great to see my name up there (on the top of the leaderboard)", said Henderson of Ottawa, Ontario.

"Two bogeys to finish, but that just gives me a little more motivation going into tomorrow".

"I've been playing solid", said Moriya.

MLB Draft 2017: How, when, and where to watch
Daily sports headlines from across Gwinnett County, including high school, professional and college news. Shortstop Adam Hall of London, Ont., went to the Baltimore Orioles with the 60th overall pick.

Her younger sister, world No.1, Ariya fired a 69 in a roller-coaster round with one eagle, three birdies, one double bogey and one bogey. "I'm just excited. It was a good week for me here past year so I have great memories". I was hitting the ball really well and some putts were dropping, which (was) kind of a change from the past few weeks. Lydia Ko, at No. 2 after an 85-week run at the top, was at six under after a 71.

Two other Canadian players made the cut.

Flooding caused the par five 5th hole to be played as a par three, which saw the course played as a par 69, meaning Thompson's round of 5-under par under was in fact a 64.
