Blackhawks Bring Back Brandon Saad, Trade Artemi Panarin In Flurry Of Moves

Coyotes get D Niklas Hjalmarsson in trade with Blackhawks

The Blackhawks have re-acquired forward Brandon Saad in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets, parting with top young forward Artemi Panarin to complete the blockbuster deal.

Saad was sent along with forward Alex Broadhurst and defenseman Michael Paliotta to the Blue Jackets for Anisimov, Marko Dano, Jeremy Morin, Corey Tropp and a fourth-round pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. "His rookie year will always rank among the best in franchise history and his exciting style of play provided many memorable moments for our fans during his two seasons as a member of the team".

The suspect, 22-year-old Darwin Martinez Torres, drove up onto a curb and the group scattered, Parker said. Darwin Martinez Torres, 22, was charged with murder on Monday following the Sunday death of Hassanen.

Saad was reacquired by the Blackhawks on Friday - along with Anton Forsberg - in a swap for Artemi Panarin and Tyler Motte, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports. The deal was announced less than an hour after Hjalmarsson was traded to Arizona for defenceman Connor Murphy and forward Laurent Dauphin. He won two Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks. Dauphin, 22, has appeared in 32 National Hockey League games over the past two seasons.

This comes just three days after the Blackhawks announced that veteran Marian Hossa would sit out the 2017-18 season because of a skin condition. Last season marked his second in Chicago, where he played in 82 games and scored 31 goals. Chicago missed Saad a lot and they're very happy to have the two-time Stanley Cup champion back.

Alex Jones interview draws 3.5 million viewers
Although his theory has been discredited, people who believe Jones have harassed and taunted families of the victims. Lawyers who represent 12 people who lost loved ones at Sandy Hook urged NBC News officials not to air the interview.

The 30-year-old Hjalmarsson had spent his entire 10-year career with Chicago, where he had 23 goals and 120 assists in 623 career games along with the franchise record for most playoff games played by a Blackhawks defenceman at 128. They have matching $6 million cap hits, but Saad is signed through 2021, while Panarin is due to hit unrestricted free agency in 2019.

"This is a dynamic player who's got tremendous speed and quickness and that 1-on-1 ability to create odd-man situations, and with his skill just create time in space and scoring opportunities", Columbus general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said.

Fleury among players exposed for Vegas NHL expansion draft
Vatanen, a fifth-year player, won't be ready for the start of next season after having surgery to fix a shoulder injury. Stu's take: The biggest question mark is Alexander Radulov, who can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Chicago also acquires a cheap potential backup goaltender in the 24-year-old Forsberg, while Columbus gets the 22-year-old Motte, who has seven points in 33 career games.
