Alexandre Lacazette: Arsenal in negotiations to sign French striker from Lyon

Alexandre Lacazette

Lyon finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season and star striker Alexandre Lacazette has been strongly linked with an exit.

This clears the way for Arsenal to pursue a deal, but Lyon have shown no signs of a willingness to accept a bid below around £50million.

Aulas, who is looking for a transfer fee of £57m for Lacazette, suggests that the La Liga club could revisit the deal in January.

Treasury announces new sanctions to increase pressure on North Korea
It cited a United Nations expert panel as saying the company has violated a ban on trade in luxury goods with the North. The Trump administration is increasing pressure on Chinese financial players amid growing tension with North Korea.

More comings and goings are expected during the remainder of the summer, with Diaz's arrival having already sparked talk that Lyon are now ready to sell Alexandre Lacazette.

The FC panel discuss the lack of love for Gareth Bale at Real Madrid and wonder if it's time for him to make a move.

Olympique Lyon surprised everyone on Friday afternoon when they announced on their twitter account that a press conference would take place at 17:00 with the president of the club, Jean-Michael Aulas and manager, Bruno Genesio in order to introduce a new player.

Josh Jackson: Not enough time to work out for Celtics after trade
The Suns , obviously, were thrilled to draft Jackson and it looks like they might have had a hand in swaying him away from Boston. He has the size to in theory play both forward positions, and the length to be a passable defender with some added work.

'I do not have anything to say about Olivier Giroud.,' Aulas said.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a long-time admirer of the French worldwide, who scored 37 goals in all competitions during the last campaign.

Aulas confirmed Lyon's interest in Giroud on Wednesday, describing him as "one of the players who might interest us", but doubted whether the player himself would be willing to leave Arsenal.
