Podcast: Paul George trade, free agency day one reaction

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

The Pacers - amidst huge intrigue for star forward - traded Paul George for the paltry return of Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.

The person requested anonymity because the deal hadn't been publicly announced.

Now the Thunder have two of the NBA's top 15 players in George and reigning MVP Russell Westbrook, both of whom will be free agents next summer. He reportedly informed the team earlier this year that he planned to leave next summer as an unrestricted free agent and sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. Several teams were mentioned as the potential landing spot for George, and the Cleveland Cavaliers were one of team.

Pacquiao looks beyond Horn, has Mayweather rematch in mind
Promoter Bob Arum said at the fighters' press conference that over 10 million fans in the United States would catch the fight. During the week of June 26, classic Pacquiao fights will be available on demand and streaming via ESPN's mobile app.

As was reported by USA TODAY Sports recently, George will also keep an open mind about the possibility of re-signing with the Thunder following this upcoming season. The 27-year old will bring star presence and playoff experience to the team, but he will also improve Thunder's three-point shooting.

Livingston reportedly agreed to a three-year deal with the Warriors while Iguodala is set to meet with San Antonio and ESPN reported Golden State would look at free agent Rudy Gay if Iguodala goes elsewhere.

George was traded to OKC for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.

Tillerson Meets With Qatari, Kuwaiti Envoys on Gulf Crisis
The Foreign Minister met US Secretary of State Rex Tillersoni in Washington, yesterday. Kuwait has been acting as an intermediary between Qatar and its accusers.

It was a relatively small haul in exchange for a player of George's caliber.

George played in 75 games for the Pacers last season, averaging 23.7 points per game.

The Clippers saw star point guard Chris Paul leave Wednesday for the Houston Rockets after opting out of his contract, joining star guard James Harden to form one of the most formidable backcourts in the league. He averaged 6.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. The Timberwolves, according to multiple reports, reached a three-year deal worth $57 million with free agent point guard Jeff Teague, formerly of IN, to replace Rubio. The team has plenty of assets, and it actually added to its picks and players when it traded the first overall pick days before the NBA Draft.
