US Ambassador to Israel condemns Halamish attack

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to de-escalate a diplomatic crisis with Jordan following yesterday's shooting at Israel's embassy in Amman, during which two Jordanian attackers were shot dead by an Israeli security guard.

One Jordanian is reported to have been killed and two others wounded in a shooting incident at the Israeli embassy in Amman.

Israel's Foreign Ministry did not refer to such demands in its statement, but said the guard has diplomatic immunity, according to worldwide conventions. According to radio reports, Israel has dispatched a senior defense official to help resolve the crisis.
