AAP Salt in NDA Tea Party

The results will decide the fate of candidates of the three major political parties-the ruling AAP the BJP and the Congress-all of whom have exuded confidence about winning the seat

Rejecting the allegations, Goa BJP General Secretary Sadanand Tanawade told PTI that the Congress' reaction shows their frustration on losing both the seats.

Rane retained Valpoi seat defeating his Congress opponent Roy Naik by 10,087 votes, taking the saffron party's tally in the 40-member House to 14.

Results for the by-elections to four assembly seats spread across Goa, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi followed the traditional pattern of the ruling provincial government emerging victorious. It was revenge for AAP as its candidate Ram Chander trounced Prakash by a margin of 24,052 votes. The polling percentage remained low with only 45 per cent people turning up to cast their votes. Congress candidate Surender Kumar finished third with 31,919 votes. The party had drawn a blank in the 2015 Assembly elections.

After a long time there was some good news for the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday as it retained the Bawana Assembly constituency-a reserved constituency in North Delhi -- with a comfortable majority.

Microsoft has discontinued the original Xbox One
At this point, the discontinuation is just a formality anyway- the Xbox One S had long de facto replaced the original model. If you've always wanted to purchase the original Xbox One that Microsoft launched back in 2013, it is too late.

Congress won only 7.87 percent of votes in the 2015 assembly polls. While the chief minister spread his wings too early in an attempt to become a national leader by fielding candidates in states such as Punjab and Goa, the BJP, on the other hand, is doing the exact opposite and focusing too much on Delhi when it clearly doesn't benefit significantly, if at all from it.

After the setback in Delhi, relief to BJP came from Goa, where the party managed to win both Panaji and Valpoi seats.

The bypoll was necessitated after the resignation of Ved Prakash as the legislator in March.

Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said after the results that party's revival process "may be hard but not impossible!"

However, Congress with 16 MLAs still remains the single largest party in the Goa assembly.

TDP's Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy got 97,076 votes, while YSR Congress Party's Silpa Mohan Reddy polled 69,620 votes. Panaji was a particularly prestigious contest with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar seeking a re-entry into the Assembly after a stint in Parliament and as the Union defence minister. The role fell upon All India Congress Committee secretary and party loyalist Girish Chodankar, who put up a formidable campaign despite the party's ground-level organsation staying away from the campaign after Monserrate joined the Goa Forward Party.

The Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi (RPS), a proponent of a separate Rayalaseema state which some political observers considered a game-changer, failed to take off and got a mere 154 votes-less than even the 1,231 none of the above (NOTA) votes.
