After Flynn resigns, Dems ask what did Trump know and when

U.S. President Donald Trump joined by senior adviser Jared Kushner, Communications Director Sean Spicer and National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, speaks by phone with Saudi Arabia's King Salman in the Oval Office at the White H

The president signed an executive order rolling back a regulation that required oil and gas companies to disclose certain foreign payments.

The White House late Monday said Trump had accepted Flynn's resignation amid allegations the retired three star general discussed USA sanctions strategy with Russia's ambassador Sergey Kislyak before taking office. Lt Gen Kellogg had been appointed the national security council chief of staff and advised Mr Trump on national security issues during the campaign.

"The truth and consequences of the Russian Federation connection: the American people deserve to know the full extent of Russia's financial, personal and political grip on President Trump and what that means for our national security", Pelosi said.

Gen Flynn resigned on Monday - less than a month into the job - after he allegedly discussed U.S. sanctions against Moscow with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak in a phone call late past year. "I have nothing to do with Russia", Mr Trump told reporters in his first solo press conference as President.

"Who knew about this and when?" Did the president know and when did he know it?

Senate narrowly confirms Mick Mulvaney to serve as Trump's budget chief
Mulvaney easily won a fourth term in November with 59 percent of the vote. Mulvaney is a fiscal conservative and is open to defense spending reform.

Questions are now being raised if Flynn's conversation with Kislyak was cleared as part of Trump's stated aim to improve ties with Russian Federation and whether he was asked to bring up sanctions or he was freelanced. Others are demanding that Attorney General Jeff Sessions appoint a special counsel for any relevant Justice Department investigation.

Flynn resigned Monday after admitting that he had misinformed administration officials about communications with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Look, when I go to rallies, they turn around, they start screaming at CNN. "I'm just telling you you're dishonest people". But Ryan sidestepped questions about whether an inquiry is warranted.

"No, I didn't direct him, but I would have directed him if he didn't do it. OK?"

Kosachev's counterpart in the lower chamber of the Russian parliament, Alexei Pushkov, tweeted shortly after the announcement that "it was not Flynn who was targeted, but relations with Russia". "And it was getting to be a distraction".

This is consistent with the position taken by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, who said that an investigation by the Senate intelligence committee is "highly likely". "We don't do that in public".

Rebels, 2 Indian Soldiers, Civilian Killed in Kashmir
The suspected militants had taken refuge in Frisal village when they were surrounded by police and the military, officials say. Police said two militants belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba and the other two to the Hizbul Mujahideen.

The President denied any wrongdoing regarding Russian Federation and said that the political press is trying to distract from what "classified information that was given illegally" to reporters. But a spokesman for Flynn told the Post on Thursday that "he couldn't be certain that [sanctions] never came up". "Russian Federation is a ruse", the president said.

"The one-president-at-a-time policy I think has served the country well", Graham said.

The broader question is was Flynn acting alone?

The Kremlin on Tuesday said Flynn's resignation was "not our business".

His departure upends Mr Trump's senior team after less than a month in office.

Days Later, Knicks Lift Charles Oakley's Lifetime Ban
The Knicks subsequently announced Oakley was banned indefinitely from attending Knicks' games at Madison Square Garden. Michael Jordan participated in the discussion via telephone.
